Dear Addams Families,
We had an extremely successful Pink Out Day yesterday at Jane Addams Junior High. Our students “amazed” us by supporting the Fight Against Breast Cancer along with showing their school spirit! Thank you to the girls basketball teams and your coaches for championing this idea.
In addition, our Student Ambassadors were excited to announce this morning that we will be having a school dance on Friday, October 27 from 6 to 8 pm. The dance will be fall themed and students can dress in “fancy” clothes, a Halloween costume or just come in typical school clothes. We will have concessions, carnival games , raffles and a DJ. The cost to enter will be $3 and we will start selling tickets during lunch soon. I also joined the SAs on the announcements to explain that going to a school dance is a privilege. Students will need to meet certain academic and behavioral requirements to be eligible to participate. Only Addams students may attend the event and students must be in attendance at school on the day of the dance to participate.
As always, if you have any questions or concerns, do not hesitate to reach out.
It was nice to see our Chicago Bears finally get a win last night! Enjoy the three day weekend!

District 54 Virtual Backpack
District 54 shares information about community events with our students and families through our Virtual Backpack. We know that parents are interested in extracurricular activities. At the same time, we don’t want the homework, letters from the teachers, school news and other important district information to get lost among the countless other pieces of paper in our students’ backpacks. Please click here for additional information.
