Information about clubs/activities are given during announcements daily to all students. All permission slips are located in the cafeteria for all to pick up.

Art Club

ASL

ASL club is for students who are NOT taking ASL as an elective. A fun and interactive experience practicing a new language and learning Deaf Culture through various activities (Club meets September-October and January-March, you can choose one session).

 


 

Chess Club

Students will be learning chess skills and general strategies – while applying knowledge in a competitive format (Club meets January – March).

Club Unify

 Crusader Fall Fitness

Coding Club

Students will develop digital literacy skills. Projects will teach them how to program through tutorial and hands on lessons (Club meets October – January).

Crusader Connections

Staff and Student’s develop and implement social emotional curriculum for the incoming 6th grade students at Campanelli School. Addams students present these lessons to 6th grade classrooms (Club meets January-May).

 


 

Dissection Club

Students will be participating in both virtual and actual dissections (Club meets April-May).

FUSE

Students will take on challenges and solve them. They will apply and develop a variety of skills, including design, coding, engineering and problem-solving (Club meets September-October and December-January).

 


 

 


 

GEMS

Students will engage in various engineering challenges (Club meets February-March).

Hydraulics Club

8th Grade students will design and create a hydraulic prototype that meets the standards established by the National Fluid Power Challenge, create an Engineering Portfolio, worthy of being judged by local engineers and compete in a day-long competition against other D54 junior high schools (Club meets September-November).

 


 

Intramurals

MakerSpace

Provide students with an opportunity to explore, create and invent using a variety of tools and technology (Club meets October – April).

 


 

Math Team

Students will challenge themselves in Math practice skills, math games and prepare to compete in the District 54 Competition in the Spring (Club meets January – March).

 


 

Musical/Drama Club

This is a club to show off your acting skills. We will start by meeting on Mondays after school beginning in October. Drama activities, skits, and yes a short musical will be part of this club. Please fill out this form if you are interested in joining.

Music Creation Studio

Are you interested in making your own music and having your original songs posted on our Music Studio YouTube page?  Come check out our Music Creation Studio on Mondays from 2:15-3:00.  No music experience is necessary.  Contact Ms. Finegan if you have any questions.
Students will have the opportunity to create music according to their own interests using recording software and Note flight (Club meets September –December).

Photography Club

Students will learn elements of photography and have the opportunity to work with a digital camera to create unique images (Club meets October-May).

Podcast Club

The club consist of outlining and planning episodes for the podcast which is recorded at Addams. Experience with technology/podcasts is not necessary (Club runs from November-March).

 


 

Reading and More with Iris the Therapy Dog

Students will complete work, read and have social time with Iris the therapy dog

Robotics Club

Students will build a robot using software on their Chromebooks. Students will work to program their robots to complete specific tasks and challenges (Club meets September-November).

Rocket Club

Students will build their own rocket from scratch. Students will launch their rockets at Olympic Park and watch them soar (Club meets January – March).

WE Club

An interactive group of 7th and 8th students who help promote school events. Students help lead out for school assemblies, organize school dances and implement school and community fundraisers. Students will promote diversity and acceptance within the school environment. (Club meets all year).

Yearbook

Yoga

Run by: Mrs. Michelini

Students will gain flexibility and strength through the practice of yoga asana (poses). Learn how to use mindful breathing (pranayama) in order to stay calm and focused (Club meets November-December).
