Dear Addams Families,

It was a week of hard work and celebration at Addams Junior High! On the Wednesday half day, we celebrated the end of the first trimester with a door decorating contest and our latest installment of the world famous Accept, Achieve, Amaze Assemblies. This month, the math department honored students and staff members that have gone above and beyond to exemplify our three A’s. In addition, our PBIS committee planned and executed staff and student participation games (What’s in the Box and Preparing a Feast). It was certainly a fun way to continue to build a culture where we balance love and accountability.

If you have not yet signed up for conferences, we would suggest doing so this weekend. Some teachers’ schedules are already full. If you have concern about your child’s performance and there are no open slots, we suggest you email the teacher. In addition, regardless of whether you are meeting with teachers or not, ALL are welcome to stop by Addams between 11:45 am and 7:00 pm (closed 4:30 to 5:15 pm for dinner) on Monday, November 20 and 7:30 to 9:15 am on Tuesday, November 21 to visit our Book Fair and Fall Fest.

As always, if you have any questions or concerns do not hesitate to reach out.

Regards,

Chris Bingen          Bill Musselman
Principal                 Assistant Principal

 Parent-Teacher Conferences
School District 54 is making it easier than ever for families to schedule conferences with teachers. We’ve partnered with “Meet the Teacher” to provide a mobile-friendly and easy-to-use system that creates a simple and streamlined scheduling experience. To login and schedule a conference, please visit https://schooldistrict54.meettheteacher.com/ and enter the information in the text fields. Please make sure you enter the information that matches the student’s registration. If you have more than one child in District 54, you will only have to use one child’s information to login. The system will show you options for all the students in your household after you login once.

Once you’re in the system, you’ll be able to select your child’s/children’s teacher(s) and your preferred dates and times. If you prefer to have your conference virtually via Zoom, please add a message to the conference when prompted and type in the word “Zoom.”  If you prefer to have an in-person conference, please leave this blank. If you would like to change or delete any scheduled conferences, you can do so by logging in again with the same information. We encourage you to bookmark the website https://schooldistrict54.meettheteacher.com/ on your phone, tablet, or desktop to review, possibly make changes, and for future parent-teacher conference sessions.

For more detailed information on how to login and navigate the site, please view our guide below.
If you have any questions, please call the main office at 847-357-5900 or email school secretary Mrs. Sproat, [email protected]

6th grade Parent Night (Incoming students for 2024-25 school year)
Please save the date of Wednesday, 12/6.  The administration along with staff representatives will host a parents-only, informational presentation to discuss the many wonderful opportunities that exist at Addams Junior High and to explain in detail the process of choosing electives for 7th grade. This event will take place on Wednesday, December 6 from 6 – 7 pm.   For our Dual Language and Chinese Immersion families, there will be a presentation from 5:30-6:00pm that will provide specific information about the program your child is enrolled in.

Our partnership is important for the success of your child.  We look forward to meeting you and answering any questions you may have about Addams and the transition to junior high.
