Talent show Talent Show Talent show

Dear Addams Community:

The month of A”MAY”SMENT has continued!

Here are a few highlights from this past week:

  • The Addams track and field team came in 2nd place overall at the Addams track meet this past Monday evening. All of the student athletes made us proud by giving their best effort during the meet. The 8th grade girls team placed 1st overall in the meet and many students from all teams earned medals. We would like to send a huge congratulations out to 8th grader, Michael Webb who set conference records in the hurdles, 100m dash and 200 m dash events.

  • The 8th grade Dual Language Japanese and Chinese Immersion students took place in separate celebration events to honor them for their achievements in the programs. Highlights of the events included student speeches, videos and diploma presentations

  • Addams definitely has talent!  This year’s Talent Show was a roaring success. We were so impressed not only by the students’ talents but how confidently they performed in front of the entire staff and student body!

  • The RISE program celebrated as one of their students will be graduating on Sunday. The staff and students of this program are one big family and they provided a wonderful sendoff for the student.

  • The bands and orchestras wowed audiences as they filled the Addams gym with sweet sounds and performed beautifully this past Wednesday and Thursday evening.

  • Our REACH students took part in their annual Poetry Reading event. It was heartwarming to watch these students as they read their poems to the audience. The students in the program were incredibly supportive of each other, as well!

  • Today, we look forward to 8th grade graduation practice and activity day. Fingers crossed that the weather holds out so students can spend some of the day outside.

This coming Sunday is the big day for 8th graders! We cannot wait to celebrate the Class of 2023 at Wintrust Stadium. This afternoon, we will send out one last email with all information needed by parents for graduation.

Finally, we look forward to celebrating with our 7th graders this coming week. On the Wednesday half day, students will participate in Field Day. On Friday afternoon, we will hold a Block Party event for 7th graders.

Regards,

 Chris Bingen       Bill Musselman
