Dear Addams Families,
What a year it has been. I am so excited to celebrate the conclusion to a great 7th grade year with your children. I wanted to connect with you to provides some updates for our last week together. Please see below.
5/20-Half day & Yearbook Distribution:
Those students who have pre-ordered a yearbook will receive it Wednesday morning. There will be some extras available for purchase in the main office for $30 cash only. Students must have cash on hand in order to receive a book.
I am also pleased to announce that we are celebrating our building’s MAP achievements with ANYTHING BUT A BACKPACK DAY. On this day (May 20), the students can bring something other than their backpack to school. I spoke to the students Friday morning to cover what would be considered appropriate vs. inappropriate items to bring in place of a backpack.
5/21-Chromebook & Charger Return:
7th grade students will be turning in their Chromebooks and Chargers on Thursday. A $15 fee will processed for families of students who do not return their issued charger.
5/21-8th Grade Graduation
The graduation ceremony is a family event for the 8th grade students and their families. The graduation ceremony is NOT a school event in which all students are afforded the opportunity to attend like an event hosted at Addams. This is where I am asking for your help and support. If your child wants to attend the graduation ceremony, then they need to be accompanied and supervised by a parent or guardian. In the event a 7th grade student shows up to the ceremony without a parent or guardian, they will be informed to leave and not allowed entry in to attend the ceremony. The intention of this request is to work together to ensure that the graduates and their families are given the appropriate and earned respect during the graduation ceremony.
5/22-Field Day
This activity day will be outside (weather permitted) so students may want to wear or bring sunblock. It is also encouraged that students bring a water bottle.
At the end of the day, students will clean out their lockers. Please ensure they have a big enough bag to bring home all of their belongings.
5/26-Last Day of School
Before we leave for summer break, 7th graders will get to experience a block party designed for them in eh afternoon. All students should bring their own lunch, as pizza will NOT be sold. After lunch, students will spend the rest of the day participating in different activities and games. Again, it is highly recommended that students bring water and apply sunscreen.
