Dear Addams Families,

I wanted to take a final moment to provide updated end-of-year information leading to the graduation ceremony. 8th graders should have their lockers cleaned out by Friday. There is no need to bring a backpack to school on Friday. The only thing that your child might need to bring on Friday would be their lunch. See below for all other details.

  • Yearbooks:  For those families that have purchased a yearbook for their child, they will be distributed on Thursday, May 22 by Inspire teachers. Extra yearbooks will be available for purchase for $30 cash. This is not a guarantee and will be a first come, first serve basis. Students must have cash on hand in order to pay for a yearbook. You cannot reserve a yearbook.
  • Graduation Practice:  Graduation practice for our eighth-grade students will take place during their last day of school on Friday, May 23.  Students must be present for graduatoin practice. Please contact the front office if your child is unable to be present.
  • Graduation Activities Day, May 23: In addition to practicing for graduation, we will take a break during the day to celebrate with our 8th graders. There will be an inflatable obstacle course for some fun races. The rental company, Record-a-hit, requires a waiver to be completed. PLEASE COMPLETE THIS WAIVER IF YOU WOULD LIKE YOUR CHILD TO BE ABLE TO PARTICIPATE. Click HERE for the Spanish version of the waiver. There will also be other fun games and activities, such as a photo booth, and cornhole. Since we are planning on being outside, I would suggest your child wear a light jacket or sweatshirt (forecast is in the mid 60’s). Students who ordered fun lunch will recieve Fortune House. For those that did not, there will be Old Town Pizza available to purchase. Students may also bring their own lunch from home. In addition, we will have water, Culvers custard, and chips for everyone. The activity day will be outside, so students may want to wear or bring sunblock as well.

  • Graduation Ceremony
    1. The graduation ceremony will begin promptly at 5:30 pm on Tuesday, May 27, at Schaumburg High School.
    2. Students should arrive no later than 5:00pm and report to the Auxiliary Gym to line up.
    3. Students and families should enter through Door 10 at Schaumburg HS
    4. Please provide enough time to accout for increased traffic. Also, be aware of road work on nearby Salem Drive.

  • Graduation Gowns: Any 8th grader that has already paid for a gown has already received it. If your child did not receive the gown that means we still need you to purchase one ASAP. If you still need to purchase your child’s gown and medallion log on to the Infinite Campus parent portal and locating the “School Store” tab. The price for both of these items is $25 plus a small processing fee. If you prefer, you can send a check (made out to Jane Addams Junior High School) or $25 cash with your student to the main office. If purchasing the gown/medallion represents a hardship for any family, email Mr. Musselman and the school will be happy to provide financial support.

  • Graduation Medallions:  All graduates will receive their keepsake 8th grade medallion at the ceremony.
  • Graduation Livestream Link: Please use the link below if you or family memebrs would liek to watch our graduation Tuesday night live!   https://youtube.com/live/I8erYVCxW3Q

As always, if you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact our front office staff or me. Thank you for your continuous support this year!

Regards,
Bill Musselman
