News from Addams February 8, 2018

Addams Amore

Dear Addams Community,

The staff was happy to get back into a routine this week! In Language Arts and other core subjects we have really amped up lessons on the writing process. We know what is coming in high school and beyond, and are really putting an emphasis on improving our students’ written communication skills to prepare them. We look forward to sharing students’ work with parents at the student-led conferences this coming Thursday and Friday.

If you are able to join us for conferences on Thursday, February 14, be sure to stop by our cafeteria. As it will be Valentine’s Day, we have planned an Addams Amore event. The entire family is welcome to stop by to paint a mug for a love one, write a “heart” felt note of gratitude, enjoy a cup of hot chocolate and heart-shaped cookies, while warming to the fire (on the projection screen) and listening to “lovely” music.

Speaking of gratitude, I would like to send a “shout out” to our 4B lunch period! Today, there was a mix-up with their Fun Lunch (the turkey and ham orders were switched), but these fine Addams students took it all in stride. Mrs. Ackerman, our PTA fun lunch coordinator, was brought to tears by how gracious and kind the students were to her. What an outstanding group of young adults! They definitely have Joined the Movement of Addams.

As always, do not hesitate to contact us with any questions or concerns.

Have a great weekend!

Regards,

Chris Bingen       Kim Phelan
