Band concert Band concert
Dear Addams Families,

As the year winds down, our staff continues to provide peak moments for Addams students! For example, this week we were able to hear the sweet sounds of the Addams bands and chorus during concerts on consecutive nights. Additionally, the Rocket Club successfully launched their rockets at the D54 Rocket Launch event. Next, we are excited to announce that the 7th grade boys track team earned the title of Conference Champions for the dual meet season. This coming Monday, our track student-athletes will take part in the D54 conference meet. Best of luck to the coaches and students! In addition, students from the REACH program were able to visit a local CarMax for a community based field trip. Thank you to the workers at CarMax for making this a memorable experience for the students. Finally, we look forward to celebrating with many of our 8th graders at the 8th grade Dance this evening.

Thank you for your continued partnership in ensuring success for all Addams students! #AcceptAchieveAmaze

Regards,

Donations for 8th grade events
The Addams PTA is asking for your support with donations for end-of-year 8th grade events. Please visit the following form if you are able to support our staff in making the end of year memorable for our students.

8th grade Graduation Gowns and Medallions
8th grade gowns were distributed to all students that we have received payment.  If you still need to purchase your child’s gown and medallion log on to the Infinite Campus parent portal and locating the “School Store” tab. The price for both of these items is $25 plus a small processing fee. If you prefer, you can send a check (made out to Jane Addams Junior High School) or $25 cash with your student to the main office. If purchasing the gown/medallion represents a hardship for any family, email Mr. Bingen and the school will be happy to provide financial support.

Physicals for 8th graders
If you think your student will participate in a high school summer sport camp and you will need a copy of their physical, please request it with Nurse Fatema ([email protected] ) by May 30.

8th grade Graduation
We are excited to announce that this year’s event will be held from 2:30 to 3:30 pm on Sunday, June 2, 2024 at Wintrust Field, also known as the Schaumburg Boomers Stadium. In order to accommodate all families, we will be limiting each family to six tickets. Students will sit on the field with their classmates, while families will sit in the stands. In the event of rain, we will hold our graduation ceremony on Monday, June 3, at 5:30 pm at Hoffman Estates High School. Either way, the last day of school for eighth-grade students will be Friday, May 31. District 211 summer school classes start on June 3 and we want to ensure our eighth-graders can participate in those classes.

Graduation Tickets
Each family will be limited to six tickets (the graduate does not count as one of the tickets). Tickets will be given to students on Friday, May 31 during the graduation practice.

District 54 Virtual Backpack
District 54 shares information about community events with our students and families through our Virtual Backpack.  We know that parents are interested in extracurricular activities. At the same time, we don’t want the homework, letters from the teachers, school news and other important district information to get lost among the countless other pieces of paper in our students’ backpacks.  Please click here for additional information.
