Addams Families,

As we work towards the end of trimester 1, it has been another fantastic week at Addams! We had a great whole school celebration assembly where many students were recognized for embodying our 3A’s. In addition, we had almost 100 runners for our Couch to 2 mile event! Yesterday, our 8th graders experienced a unique writing activity and science experiment.  They walked to a nearby “haunted Halloween house” for a sensory details writing lesson, and in science, were able to feel the electricity in the room thanks to a Van de Graaf generator.  If you have an Instagram account, we would highly suggest you follow us @AddamsCrusaders as there were many social media posts this week about these events along with classroom and club updates.

As always, if you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact our front office staff or me.  Thank you for your patience, flexibility, and support and we will Accept, Achieve, and Amaze to ensure the success of our students.

Regards,

Bill Musselman    Tricia Leong

Principal               Assistant Principal

Student Spirit Week

Our student ambassadors organized and are promoting a spirit week leading up to our dance.

Pumpkin Bash – Friday, November 8th

Many students are quite excited about the Fright Night Dance sponsored by our Student Ambassadors that will be held from 6 to 8 pm next Friday night. Tickets are on sale for $5 during all lunch periods through this coming Wednesday, 11/6. The funds will supplement the cost of a professional DJ, and dinner for students. If you need financial support for your child to attend, email Mr. Musselman and we will be happy to help. Many students choose to dress up for the event, but they are free to come dressed in whatever way makes them comfortable. (no costumes allowed) Students must meet academic and behavioral expectations to participate in this event.

Chromebook Reminder

Chromebooks are integral to student learning on a daily basis, and we have a limited number of loaner Chromebooks and chargers. Please remind your child to charge their Chromebooks each night so they are prepared for learning. It could be helpful to create a routine of plugging it in before bedtime. We appreciate the support.

District 54 shares information about community events with our students and families through our Virtual Backpack.  We know that parents are interested in extracurricular activities. At the same time, we don’t want the homework, letters from the teachers, school news and other important district information to get lost among the countless other pieces of paper in our students’ backpacks.  Please click here for additional information.
