Dear Addams Families,
The big week is upon us! I am so excited for you and your 8th grade student as there are many peak moments to celebrate this week. I wanted to reconnect with you and provide updated information leading to the graduation ceremony. Please see below.
5/19: Chromebook and charger return
On Tuesday, May 19, students will be returning their Chromebooks and Chromebook Chargers during their LA classes. There will be a $15 fee for lost chargers.
5/20: Half day/Yearbook distribution
I am pleased to announce that we are celebrating our building’s MAP achievements with ANYTHING BUT A BACKPACK DAY. On this day (May 20), the students can bring something other than their backpack to school. I spoke to the students Friday morning to cover what would be considered appropriate vs. inappropriate items to bring in place of a backpack.
For those families that have purchased a yearbook for their child, they will be distributed on Wednesday, May 20 by Inspire teachers. We do have some extra yearbooks available for purchase. This is a first come, first serve basis and students must have $30 cash on hand in order to pay for a yearbook.
5/21: Graduation Practice & Activities Day
Thursday, May 21 is the last day of school for 8th grade students. It is mandatory for all graduates to be present for practice in order to participate in the ceremony. In addition to practicing for graduation, we will take a break during the day to celebrate with our 8th graders. There will also be other fun games and activities, such as a photo booth, cornhole, and a splash station where students can purchse the opportunity to dump a bucket of water on a staff member. Students who are interested will be able to purchase Old Town pizza slices. In addition, we will have water, chips and popcorn for everyone. Students that are not purchasing pizza should consider bringing a lunch to supplement the treats. The activity day will be outside (weather permitted) so students may want to wear or bring sunblock.
