On Friday, March 13th, all students will participate in an engaging career exploration experience. Each grade level will embark on a specific, exciting journey.
Our eighth-grade students will be taking a field trip to Harper College as part of our commitment to establishing the foundation for College and Career Readiness. We believe that exposure to post-secondary opportunities will positively impact our students’ mindset and instill habits necessary for academic success before their High School transition. We want to do all that we can, in partnership with you, to make our children as well-rounded and future-oriented as possible. If you do not want your student to participate in the field trip, please email me at
[email protected] to opt your student out. All attending 8th graders will get to place subway orders for lunch provided by Harper College. If you purchased a fun lunch for March 13th, you will be reimbursed since the students will not be present for lunch.
For our seventh graders, Addams will host a Career Day on the same day. We are thrilled to welcome a diverse group of community professionals that will be speaking to and providing some insight on their field to our seventh grade students. This interactive experience offers students a unique opportunity to ask real-world questions, participate in hands-on demonstrations, and connect their current studies to future success. If you purchased a fun lunch for your seventh grader, it will still be delivered to school for your child. Otherwise, students will need to bring their own lunch on this day.
