Dear Addams Community:

One of the many things I love about Addams is the variety of clubs and extracurricular activities that we are able to offer to our students. As a perfect example, this past week Club Unify students planted some beautiful flowers in pots that were painted by staff. What a fantastic addition to the front of our school. We are very proud of the many students that have chosen to extend their learning beyond the traditional day this school year by participating in Addams clubs.

In addition, we were excited to welcome the majority of the class of 2025 to Addams last night. The 6th graders seemed to have a great time at the 6th Grade Bash! They will get to join the long line of successful Crusaders and we look forward to getting to know these students next August.

Finally, we would like to remind parents of 8th graders to order Class of 2023 t-shirts by this Sunday evening (see below for ordering information). In addition, be on the lookout as the 8th grade Class or 2023 yard signs will go home this Monday, May 1.

We hope everyone has a wonderful weekend!

Regards,

Chris Bingen         Bill Musselman

Principal               Assistant Principal

Personal Assessment of Core Competency Survey (SEL Survey)
District 54 is committed to ensuring not only the academic success of each child, but also their social-emotional wellbeing. Your insight as a parent/guardian is essential in creating the most well rounded picture of your student’s strengths and opportunities for growth. To gather your perspective, District 54 will send families of students in grades 3-8 an email link for each child to the District 54 Personal Assessment of Core Competency Survey on Monday, April 17th.  Thank you in advance for participating in this survey, as we believe the home-school collaboration is critical to best support your child’s overall well-being.

Save your bottle caps
Our Student Ambassadors are working on a whole school project to help the environment. We are collecting plastic bottle caps. If we receive enough, we will be able to have them repurposed into a bench for the school. Please help us by saving your caps and sending them to school with your child on a regular basis.

District 54 shares information about community events with our students and families through our Virtual Backpack.  We know that parents are interested in extracurricular activities. At the same time, we don’t want the homework, letters from the teachers, school news and other important district information to get lost among the countless other pieces of paper in our students’ backpacks.  Please click here for additional information.
