Dear Addams Community:

It was so great to see so many of our returning and new Crusaders and their families at the Information Day and Block Party on Wednesday. We broke an Addams record by serving 75 pizzas, 600 waters and 5 tubs of Culvers custard. Thank you to the Culvers on Wise Rd. and Old Town Pizza for your donations and valued partnership! The event set the stage for what is going to be an amazing school year. We are equally excited to welcome these 7th and 8th graders next week!

Enjoy the weekend, and do not hesitate to reach out with any questions or concerns about the upcoming school year!

 Regards,

 Supply Lists

Click here to find the 2022-23 school supply list.  Teachers would like your student to bring all supplies with them on the first day of school.  Remember to mark your student’s personal items with his/her name to avoid confusion if an item is misplaced.

Kleenex

Every year, teachers run out of Kleenex in their classrooms. 2 boxes of Kleenex are on the supply list, but we would love for your family to donate even more! We will take all boxes from students on the first day of school and distribute them across the building. Thanks in advance for your help!

First Day of School
The first full day of school on Monday, August 15 and will be for 7th grade students ONLY.  This day is designated for seventh grade students to help them get acclimated and comfortable with Jane Addams Junior High. All students will then come on Tuesday, August 16.

Backpacks/lockers

Students can use backpacks this year to carry all possessions with them throughout the school day. They will also have the use of school lockers before and after school to store coats, gym shoes, etc. During the first days of school, teachers will discuss what items students should bring for class each day and what can be left at home, in lockers or in the classroom.

Gym lockers/uniforms

Students will be issued a PE lock and locker by their PE teacher. Gym attire and uniforms will be discussed in Physical Education classes during the first week of school. Stay tuned for more information.

No Food Deliveries Allowed

With a focus on student and staff safety, District 54 will not allow food delivery services (including, but not limited to, GrubHub, DoorDash, and local restaurants) to our schools. We will continue to have hot lunch days, which are planned events, organized and supervised by school or PTA volunteers. However, we will no longer accept other outside food deliveries to keep our schools secure.
