For students who are eligible for busing and choose to stay after school hours for sports and/or clubs, an activity bus is available to take your child home once after school activities begin on Monday, August 24.
The after school buses begin loading students at 3:50 PM and depart Addams at 4:00 PM. Please encourage your child to take advantage of the activity bus and stay at Addams for our great extra-curricular offerings.
Please note, activity buses DO NOT drop off students at their regular bus stop. Instead, their drop-off locations are in the vicinity of what would be 2 or 3 regular bus stops. Students will learn which bus to board and which stop is best for them.

Just wanted to remind everyone that the Girls Basketball team is having tryouts starting next week! 8th grade girls are on Monday and Tuesday of next week! 7th grade girls are on Thursday and Friday of next week! Please have a sports physical on file with the nurse, and the registration filled out on Infinite Campus in the Parent Portal by August 26th!!! We are so excited to start and have some fun ballin it up!!!
Starting Monday, August 24th, our students will begin their Math MAP testing during their math classes. Reading MAP testing will begin Monday, August 31st. The purpose of MAP Growth (K-8) is to inform teachers of the immediate instructional needs of students. MAP results equip educators with key data to help personalize instruction and pinpoint individual student needs. Please note that MAP has updated their national norms in 2025 so you may see some variance in your student’s national percentile rank compared to your student’s past MAP assessments.

Student schedules are visible on the Infinite Campus Portal. Please know that our priority when creating your student’s class schedule is ensuring that your student is placed in the appropriate core content subject classes (Language Arts, Mathematics, Social Studies, Science, and PE). Once those classes are scheduled, every effort is made to honor your student’s elective requests.
However, due to priority scheduling placed on core content class placement, we cannot guarantee that your student will get both of the electives they have requested. With over 700 students in our school, the task of ensuring that all students are placed into both of their requested electives is quite challenging. Thank you in advance for your continued support.

Join us on Thursday, August 13th for our Information Day and Block Party. Information Day will run from 3:30 to 6:30 pm and the Block Party will run concurrently from 4:00 to 6:00 pm.
During Information Day, students/parents will receive a copy of their schedule, a building map, and a student handbook (schedules will be available online, if families choose to not come in-person). Students WITH their parents will also be allowed to take part in self-guided walks of the building. NEW THIS YEAR: We will be selling Addams student planners for $10 and calculators for $13.
During the Block Party, Old Town pizza, water, popcorn, and Culvers custard will be served to families on the lawn between Addams and Atcher pool. Families are invited to bring a blanket to sit on, hang out with Addams staff and students, and enjoy some DJ music mood to mark the beginning of a positive school year.
