Beginning on Thursday, September 3, cheese pizza will be served from Old Town Pizza every Tuesday and Thursday for interested students.
Pizza is $3 per slice and sold during all lunch periods. We accept cash and electronic payments. A convenience fee will be added to all electronic transactions.

No Food Deliveries Allowed
With a focus on student and staff safety, District 54 will not allow food delivery services (including, but not limited to, GrubHub, DoorDash, and local restaurants) to our schools. We will continue to have hot lunch days, which are planned events, organized and supervised by school or PTA volunteers. However, we will no longer accept other outside food deliveries to keep our schools secure.

Motorized Bikes, Scooters, and Skateboards Prohibited
Electric bikes, scooters and skateboards are not permitted on District 54 property, due to safety concerns including the potential for accidents and the possibility of fire associated with such devices. This applies to students, as well as to family members and friends who may be picking up or dropping off students at school.

Addams has the Visitor Aware management system.
- When you visit the school you will still ring the doorbell and be buzzed into the vestibule. If you are just dropping off a lunch or some other item, you can put your student’s name on the item (labels will be available) and leave it on the designated shelving unit.
- If you need to enter the main office during school hours, then you will stop at the self-serve tablet in the vestibule and check in as a visitor.
- At these tablets, you will have your photo taken, type in your phone number and enter your destination in the building.
- Instructions on the tablet will prompt you to take your photo. During this step, you will be asked to check a box allowing us to use facial recognition to check you in faster on a future visit. It’s up to you whether or not you check this box.
- If it’s your first time using the tablet, you will need to scan your ID. The camera for the ID scan is located at the top left side, behind the tablet. Both driver’s licenses and state IDs are accepted. SCAN the back of ID.
- The system runs that information against FBI and Interpol lists, predator databases and active court orders to ensure the individuals we are admitting to our buildings are safe.
- If you are cleared, a badge with your name, photo and destination will be printed for you to wear while you are in the building. School staff and the District 54 Safety Team will be alerted to anyone who is flagged.

The after school buses begin loading students at 3:50 PM and depart Addams at 4:00 PM. Please encourage your child to take advantage of the activity bus and stay at Addams for our great extra-curricular offerings.
Please note, activity buses DO NOT drop off students at their regular bus stop. Instead, their drop-off locations are in the vicinity of what would be 2 or 3 regular bus stops. Students will learn which bus to board and which stop is best for them.

Just wanted to remind everyone that the Girls Basketball team is having tryouts starting next week! 8th grade girls are on Monday and Tuesday of next week! 7th grade girls are on Thursday and Friday of next week! Please have a sports physical on file with the nurse, and the registration filled out on Infinite Campus in the Parent Portal by August 26th!!! We are so excited to start and have some fun ballin it up!!!
Starting Monday, August 24th, our students will begin their Math MAP testing during their math classes. Reading MAP testing will begin Monday, August 31st. The purpose of MAP Growth (K-8) is to inform teachers of the immediate instructional needs of students. MAP results equip educators with key data to help personalize instruction and pinpoint individual student needs. Please note that MAP has updated their national norms in 2025 so you may see some variance in your student’s national percentile rank compared to your student’s past MAP assessments.

The building was buzzing with activity yesterday during the Addams Information Day & Block Party. It was great to see so many of our new and returning students and families. The event definitely set the stage for what is going to be an amazing school year.
