Dear Addams Community:

Did you know that Addams Junior High School is a Special Olympics Unified Champion School? In order to earn this distinction, the school had to meet criteria in different areas related to being an inclusive school. This is an honor we take great pride in and continue to work to ensure that all students are “accepted and respected” at Addams. As a perfect example, today our Club Unify group participated in D54 Unified Sports day. Lots of laughter and smiles were observed, as the students represented our school in a variety of sporting activities.

In addition, we would like to thank the amazing Addams PTA and the many parents that donated their time and food items to make the staff feel special this week during Teacher Appreciation Week. I would also like to send a huge shout-out to our amazing staff for all that you do each day to make the learning environment at Addams second to none.

Tonight, we look forward to hosting the 8th grade Dance. The students definitely seem excited for the event. It should be a great time!

Finally, we would hope all of our moms have a relaxing and fun Mother’s Day! We appreciate you!

Regards,

Chris Bingen        Bill Musselman

Save your bottle caps
Our Student Ambassadors are working on a whole school project to help the environment. We are collecting plastic bottle caps. If we receive enough, we will be able to have them repurposed into a bench for the school. Please help us by saving your caps and sending them to school with your child on a regular basis.

District 54 shares information about community events with our students and families through our Virtual Backpack.  We know that parents are interested in extracurricular activities. At the same time, we don’t want the homework, letters from the teachers, school news and other important district information to get lost among the countless other pieces of paper in our students’ backpacks.  Please click here for additional information.
