Dear Addams Community,
It has been another fantastic week at Jane Addams Junior High! A major highlight occurred when Supt. Andy DuRoss and School Board President Bob Kaplan came out to Addams on Monday to honor one of Addams very own, Ingrid Ackerman as a D54 Ensuring Student Success Award winner in the Educational Service Personnel category. Ingrid has worked at Addams for 15 years and is currently our head lunch supervisor. Ingrid treats all students at Addams with dignity and makes them feel special. She brings passion and a positive attitude to everything that she does! Long after her own son graduated from Addams, Ingrid is still an active Addams PTA member and the head of the Addams PTA Fun Lunch program. Finally, Ingrid has worked after school with many students for years as a valued facilitator of the Addams Club Unify.

PTA Fun Lunch is back!
We are thrilled to be able to offer three Friday PTA Fun Lunch dates this spring: 4/30, 5/7 and 5/14 for our in-person learners. Please see the attached forms for more information. As there is a short turnaround to get started, we ask that you return the forms to the school office ASAP.
Bring on the pizza!
Starting this Tuesday, in-person students can order pizza and water every Tuesday and Thursday during lunch. The cost is $2.50 for a slice of pizza or $3 for a slice of pizza and a water.
Graduation Gowns and Medallions
We are excited to see that most of our students will attend the in-person graduation ceremony at Wintrust Field (Boomers stadium) on Sunday, May 23. Please make a not that our graduation time has been moved up a half hour. Graduation will now be starting at 5:30 pm. Thank you to all parents that have made payment for your child’s gown and medallion. If you have not, see the listed payment options below::

2021 Summer Enrichment Opportunities
Summer is right around the corner and the perfect way to enjoy it is to join a Summer of 54 camp! Your child can build robots, design a t-shirt, learn a new sport, brush up on music skills, and so much more! T-shirts are included with registration, which is now available in your Parent Portal. Seats fill up fast so sign up now to be a part of the Summer of 54 Camp family! If you would like more information on each camp and the courses, please click on 2021 Summer of 54 Camp Brochure.
Registration for the 2021-22 school year will open on Monday, March 29 through the Infinite Campus Portal. Please login to review the current information and make any necessary changes. If you do not have a portal account, you should have received an email on March 13 inviting you to create one.
As a reminder, all families are required to prove that they live within District 54 boundaries every year. If we are unable to verify your residency electronically, you will receive a letter by U.S. mail, which will list the residency documents you can upload through your portal or provide to the school office to complete your registration.
You are also able to pay the consumable fee for 2021-22, as well as purchase milk and sign up for the instructional device insurance through the portal. If you believe you will qualify for the Free Lunch Program in the 2021-22 school year, and therefore will receive a fee waiver, do not pay the consumable material fee now. Applications will be available in August for the Free Lunch Program.
