Dear Addams Community,

We hope everyone is having a great week! It has been nice to get our students back into the routines of learning after spring break. Today, we are having some fun as students and staff have been asked to wear their favorite baseball team’s gear. It has definitely been a topic of conversation in the office as I am a lifelong Cubs fan and Mr. Musselman is diehard White Sox.

Next week, we look forward to welcoming some more in-person learners to Addams. If it is your child’s first time in the building this year, they can stop by the office on their way in and we will provide them with a tour to begin their day.

Have an amazing long weekend and for those that partake, have a wonderful Easter!

Regards,

Chris Bingen             Bill Musselman

Illinois Assessment of Readiness (IAR)
Each spring, students in District 54 take federally mandated assessments (IAR) designed to help school districts understand how our students are growing academically. This year, the English Language Arts and Math Assessment for our seventh and eighth grade students will be given at Addams on Wednesday, April 7 – Friday, April 9.  Remote learners are not required to test, however, if you would like to bring your child into school for testing please reach out to building secretary Karyn Sproat at [email protected] or 847-357-5937.

Remote learners will be provided with alternate lessons during the three testing days. There will be no live teaching via Zoom on these days.  Thank you in advance for your flexibility and support as we complete these assessments.

Graduation Gowns and Medallions
Thank you to 8th grade parents for filling out the graduation survey! We are excited to see that most of our students will attend the in-person graduation ceremony at Wintrust Field (Boomers stadium) on Sunday, May 23. More information will be coming soon about graduation, but in the meantime, we need to get order graduation gowns and keepsake medallions. If you stated you would buy a gown/medallion, we ask that you visit the “School Store” on the Infinite Campus Parent Portal by clicking here to pay and follow the steps below.

2021-2022 Registration
Registration for the 2021-22 school year will open on Monday, March 29 through the Infinite Campus Portal. Please login to review the current information and make any necessary changes. If you do not have a portal account, you should have received an email on March 13 inviting you to create one.

As a reminder, all families are required to prove that they live within District 54 boundaries every year. If we are unable to verify your residency electronically, you will receive a letter by U.S. mail, which will list the residency documents you can upload through your portal or provide to the school office to complete your registration.

You are also able to pay the consumable fee for 2021-22, as well as purchase milk and sign up for the instructional device insurance through the portal. If you believe you will qualify for the Free Lunch Program in the 2021-22 school year, and therefore will receive a fee waiver, do not pay the consumable material fee now. Applications will be available in August for the Free Lunch Program.

Should you have any questions, please call the Addams Main Office.
