News from Addams October 4, 2019
Dear Addams Community,
We hope everyone is having an amazing week! As today marks the midpoint of the 1st trimester, we want to continue to encourage parents to logon to the Infinite Campus Parent Portal regularly to check on your child’s academic progress. Additionally, visit the Addams website for homework information by class. Next, we wanted to remind parents of the many social, emotional and academic supports that we have at Addams for our students. If your child is in need of help in mathematics, they can come in any day of the week starting at 7 am to visit our Math Help Center. Multiple math teachers are available each morning to help with questions or provide extra practice so that students can build confidence in their mathematics abilities. In addition, the math department offers support afterschool each Tuesday. If students are just in need of a quiet place to study, or would like to take advantage of the new technology that we have in the Creation Studio, our library is open daily at 7 am. For another layer of support, students can also come to the library afterschool on Thursdays for Crusader Club. Students may attend alone or with friends to complete homework under the watchful direction of an Addams staff member.
If your child is having some social or emotional concerns, do not hesitate to reach out to our guidance department for advice and support. We are grateful to have full time psychologist Mrs. Clarke, along with social workers Mrs. Heidler (7th grade) and Mrs. Cerny (8th grade) who have a wealth of knowledge in working students through bumps in the road. Visit our website for email information or call the main office 847-357-5900 to contact the guidance department.
Finally, we look forward to seeing many of you this coming Thursday or Friday morning at Student-Led Conferences. Students should bring their Chromebooks to conferences. While at conferences, you won’t want to miss the chance to visit the “Championing our Crusaders” photo booth in the Creation Studio. It will be a fun way to show that your whole family has Joined the Movement!
Have an amazing weekend!
